Okay, so I am answering my own question.

I just added spaces to the right of the other items of lesser string length and that took care of the problem. All of the items in the list are now of the same string length, blank spaces being to the right.

"BUYER "
"PRELIMINARY "

Fonts also play a role here, so you may have to adjust for differences in fonts.
