Gunnar, Thanks for the suggestion. The problem with this solution is that the procedural code will not know the width of the report field control. This solution is more reliable in a form because both the control and the procedural code are contained in the same form so the code could query the width of the control. Thanks anyway. I am hoping to find some format specification or something similar that is native to VFP.
