I'm using SQL pass-through to update an Oracle 8i database. Regardless of whether the field is defined as VARCHAR2(4000) or as a CLOB, I get an error when I try to update the field with a memo longer than 2000 characters. Is there a simple way around this, or do I have to create a stored procedure and build the field up using DBMS_LOB.WRITEAPPEND(). Any help would be appreciated.
