What I find weird about this is that the U.S. strongly opposes this court.>
>Yes, this really amused me.
Unfortunately, the U.S. opposes several other international cooperation efforts too, for instance, the Kyoto Treaty (on greenhouse gases).
Being one of the most powerful countries of the World in several aspects, this severly restricts the possibility to push through the international cooperation efforts.
International cooperation will prevail sooner or later, I am sure - the Holy Writings leave no doubt about that. The problem is, if large parts of humanity don't t cooperate, it may be later rather than sooner - and at the cost of great suffering. For instance, if nothing is done about the greenhouse gases (mainly CO2), the planet will continue to deteriorate.
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
