>>1. Two weeks ago a person from the Administration commented: This war will be fought the opposite of the Gulf War. First the ground troops will go in and secure the oil wells and cities and then we will bomb.

>If recent history is anything to go by, isn't it likely that both will happen simultaneously. The ground troops go in & your planes following dropping bombs on anything that moves, regardless of direction of movement & nationality.

Len;

That is a possibility. After all, our "new" military has had recent training using such tactics. Little boys and men who play with military weapons have to pay a price sometimes.

In Vietnam if we killed anything that moved it was a “kill” and counted in the weekly Kill Report. I remember someone mentioning a water buffalo became a statistic. You count anything that was living to make the top brass happy with the “right numbers”.

In the case of killing your own troops this activity has been going on for centuries. I mentioned that my father was in a number of WW II battles including Okinawa. In the battle of Okinawa we killed about 4000 of our own men. No investigations, no court martials, just dead Marines and Army personnel. We have an incident like the WTC in which about 3000 foreign national and U.S. Citizens are killed and it is treated very differently.

When you sign your name to the dotted line to join the military, your ass belongs to Uncle Sam, for the duration of your enlistment. Anything that happens to you happens. When I was first in the Air Force we were told, “Don’t worry if anything happens to you. Uncle Sam will ship you home in a $10 pine box”. Within a short time plastic “body bags” were used as we were running out of pine.
