When you say almost every other industrialized nation, who are you talking about? It is my understanding that most of Europe is with the U.S. I know that Japan is behind us.

After Sept 11th, the US stopped Amercian nationals from funding the IRA by clamping down on groups such as NORAID. This was a major funding source for the IRA and basically took the wind out of them. Because of this the Brits have had a major domestic terrorist campaign against them endend.
