I know that in the short term - ActiveX controls will be around. But I cannot see any company starting a new project using VB6. My question was on long term future of the controls. If Microsoft stops sell the programming language that creates the ActiveX controls, how will new ones be created in 3-5 years from now. Does Foxpro have a large enough base to maintain the ActiveX control community? I do not think so, and I'm worried about the long term use of VFP. What happens when WIndows goes to 64 bits? Remember the old OCXs called VBX -- they were 16 bit.

Still thinking out loud...
