Maybe you're seeing the fact that when there's over 400 new messages, the threads get condensed to just titles?

You'd have to click on the thread to open it up and see new messages. Maybe there is some other configration item I'm not aware of, but new meesages between logons has always been there.

Maybe someone else is loging in using your account that you don't know about?
