Yes, corruption would seem to fit. However, there are about 18,900 text files in my test data. After getting all of them into the table's memo fields, every record of the table has one or more instances of the same artifact in the memo field. If it is a corruption issue, then I still will have to find a way to identify and clean out the artifacts.

For background, the files are from a legacy program that used text files for memos, one per invoice, one per order, etc.
