Well, um thats also not all right.
If i use Remote Views, no filter, no parameters and Remote View Advanced setting of 'fetch all records', fetch memo, the DE will issue a USE lik eon a local table all right.
Then the data starts flowing, in pages of X records designated by the view, fetch size.
The worst thing to do is 'go bottom' right away.

I have a remote view that fetches in batches of 100.
Guess how many records come down and are browsable?
100.
If I key past record 100, i get 100 more, etc.

By far the FASTEST way to LOAD Data on Local VFP tables is with a parameterized view.

And use SQL Pass-thru instead of Remote views for ODBC Data!
