I was aware that the airport was being readied for use by American forces during the past month, but not that it was actually 'captured.' The last I heard, US troops were lined up in the surrounding hills nearby the airport.
President Bush notified Congress today that war is necessary and imminent (a necessary legal step in our government even though congress gave him the power months ago to use military force in Iraq).
