Good afternoon Tamar
Hmm.. Microsoft says that SYS(1001) Returns the total amount of memory available to the Visual FoxPro memory manager. Wouldn't that then be the memory that can be managed via SYS(3050)?
If not, then to manage buffer memory, one would have to start with the default allocations (SYS(3050,0) and use a percentage of that memory, as in, for example, 80% of the default allocation. But this would be contrary to the usual advice seen on this board and elsewhere, where allocations for fore and back ground memory start with the SYS(1001)/4 value.
BTW my simple test results were repeatable after a warm boot with only the kind of applets running that are typically seen in the system tray. Outlook and IE both closed.
