>>Sorry for the late response. It is hard to provide a link to things I hear from the lips of Ari Fleischer (sp?) or President Bush, but both have said it and I have seen them say it. That's good enough for me.

While I assure you, Chris, that I did hear both of them state that proof would be shown to the American people when it was time, let's for the sake of argument pretend that they didn't.

What does THAT say about this whole effort???
The U.S. and the U.K. have been stating all along that they know without a doubt that Iraq has prohibited weapons and continue to make them.

When inspectors went in, people around the world expected that the smoking gun would be produced in short order BECAUSE both the U.K. and the U.S. said they would provide the inspectors with pertinent information.

The inspectors said, several times, that any information that had been provided had produced no results.
Secretary Powell, who wouldn't surprise me if he resigns once bombs start dropping, went before the U.N. offering some "proof", and I must admit that he DID convince me that Iraq was deliberately hiding something though his links to Al-Qaida were laughable. In any case it has turned out that his information is all questionable and some was proven to be fabricated (proven by Inspectors themselves)!

So what have we got?
What we've got is a unilateral declaration of war with 3 countries participating directly in the war effort and 27 more lending their name OUT OF FEAR OF REPERCUSSIONS (they're people object but they say they are doing it for the future benefit of the country).
What we've got is a war with only hearsay as the basis for it.
What we've got is a group of 9 or so people in powerful Administration positions using Iraq as practise for later endeavours to assert the continued supremacy of the U.S. and the "protection" of its "interests" throughout the world.

Enjoy your war.
