IIRC, there's Use Netscape Messenger from MAPI-based applications checkbox under Netscape's Preferences, Mail & Newsgroups folder. I think it shoudld be checked if you don't have any other MAPI-complaint program on the PC or want to use Netscape Messenger as MAPI provider.
