Thanks! I did a MS search yesterday, but I guess I used the wrong words. :)

I created the bigcur.prg as suggested in the KB article. Just for fun, I tried doing the "USE DBF() AGAIN" thing thinking that that would force the cursor to get written to disk right away, but it doesn't. However, if you take the cursor and copy it to a table, the problem does go away, which you would expect since it's now a physical file.

Also, I ran bigcur.prg in VFP 7 and the CHR(0) problem does not happen there, as they said in the article. So that's good news.

Anyway, thanks again to you and Jim. We've been plagued by this one for a while.
