I have often used the autonumber data type in Access and have created stored procedures in the default value to autoincrement in VFP. I need to accomplish the same thing in SQL server, but have little TSQL knowledge and can't find any canned ways to autonumber an inserted record for a primary key.

Anybody know the preferred way to accomplish this in SQL server? Any examples would be most helpful.

Thanks!
