4 suggestions:
1) Plain text reports
2) PDF (or Word) attachment for report
3) URL to completed report on the web server
4) Allow the user to select between plain text or html in their preferences.

I have found many web mail services to revert to plain text for any html content - probably to keep out counter and other malicious code.
