I just discovered something interesting (and really bad at the same time)!
From VB6, if I add a data environment to a project and try to access the properties of the connection, I receive a dialog titled "Microsoft Data Environment Designer" having the message "Missing Microsoft Data Source Locator".
This should be related. Any ideas?

>Also, if I open the Server Explorer, then Servers, then my computer name. I then right-click on SQL Servers and select "Register SQL Server instance". In the dialog, the servername is already properly filled with my computer name and I leave the Instance name blank to access the local SQL Server. After clicking OK, a node appears under SQL Servers and it has a small red x on the icon. When I try to click on it, I am required to login. Whatever I try, it always fail with this error: The specified procedure could not found.
