When I use the VFP7 InstallShield to create an MSI package for a VFP executable with several support files, I've run into a problem with Windows XP. The installation is always done by an administrator so that the "All Users" option can be applied with the installer, and it works fine. Shortcuts are created in the right place and everybody gets to run the app. In Windows 2000, "Everyone" has read-write access to the application folder, and they need it for several reasons relating to how the application works and maintains itself. However, in WinXP, "Everyone" is not given any access to the application folder, and "Users" are given only Read/Execute access. Thus, the application won't run correctly. If you manually adjust permissions on the application folder so that users have Read/Write access, then everything is fine. Again, this is a Windows XP problem only. Is there a better way so solve this problem? Thanks!
