Title:
Class Not Registered error from javascript:openNewWindow
I am suddenly getting a "Class Not Registered" error in IE 6.0 SP1 whenever I click on a control that invokes javascript:openNewWindow(), javascript:openChildWindow(), or apparently any other Javascript command that attempts to open a new instance of the browser.
When this happens, a new instance of IE opens up with a completely blank page, instead of whatever the javascript was supposed to contain.
javascript:AppendSessionId() works OK, so some sites that utilize Javascript work OK, and others (or parts of others) don't. Naturally, all my critical apps are on sites that now don't work.
This is on a machine running Win2K Pro SP3. It has been running fine for many months, and just started this in the middle of the day yesterday, after installing this:
Microsoft update 814078:Security Update (Microsoft Jscript version 5.6, Windows 2000) and this:
814033:Critical Update (No description)
Does anyone know where to start looking for how to rectify this? I have downloaded an earlier version of Microsoft VM and installed it, with no change.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
