We are hooking up to SQL with ADO and have some requirements for validating of the SQL database. Their DBA doesn't give out direct access to tables, which they said is common practice, only though Stored Procedures - for both querying and updating the data. Has anyone else heard this is common practice? If so wouldn't it make it difficult for the program to use tableupdate and have VFP to go update the SQL table? It seems that the cursoradapter was meant to query the sql table and update the table directly and not with calling stored procedures or am I missing something?
