Planned to sit this debate out but .... :-)

>Well I'll offer my opinion as to why now...

>The cabal was in dread fear that something would happen at the U.N. to stop war plans and doing real war is CRITICAL to their future goals.

Jim, since when can the U.N. stop anything? That being said, the same sanctimonious French who threatened to veto any new resolution never sought U.N. approval in their various incursions into West Africa over the years.

Look at all the massacres and evil deeds perpetrated in the world the last few decades where the U.N. hand-wrung while millions died. What if the U.S. had been more proactive then? Maybe a lot of Tutsis and Hutsis and Sudanese Christians would be alive that aren't now.

So who's in this "cabal" and what are their dark, dire plans? Are you telling me that you dislike Bush so much that you'd be willing to overlook the slaughter of thousands of more Iraqi and (possibly) other folks just to foil a politician you happen to dislike?

Moral relativism is also an evil, Jim.

>It would NOT have served them for Inspectors to have found and destroyed all WMDs. Frankly, it would not have served them for Saddam to flee or surrender or suicide because they NEED THIS WAR.

No they don't "NEED THIS WAR". The U.N. and it's inspectors had TWELVE years to find these weapons and disarm Iraq! How much more time would you have given them?

>I'd say that this group will be exposed some time soon(ish) and that that will pose the greatest jeopardy to President Bush's re-election.

I'd say you're off your nut - I'd also opine that you're in a group who is so blinded by ideology that you'd overlook the transgressions (past and future) of a regime that is demonstrably worse than A. Hitlers just to satisfy your own ideals.

I'll finish with this: Even if you are 100% correct about the Bush "cabal" and secret intentions, which I vehemently doubt, a takedown of the current Iraqi regime will result in countless lives being saved and millions of folks freed from fear. Doesn't that count?
