If you are using VFP7, an alternative to Philippe's reply might be to investigate the DATE() function, which got some extra parameters in VFP7, and also use of DTOS() and {^2003-03-27}. These all take account of the current date format, which means that you don't need to think about it.

Look in the Help under 2000, year for more help.
