I just installed VFP 8 RTM on a brand new Win2K-SP3 Dell desktop computer. I changed the install path to D:\VFP8, and when I launch VFP8, I get the following error in a messagebox with an OK button:

Error locating config file -- bad path?

If I put an empty CONFIG.FPW file in the D:\VFP8 folder, the error goes away, but then I can not open the Task Pane. I get an Invalid Path or File Name error.

I know this should work because I have this type of configuration on my Win2k SP3 Dell laptop and have ZERO problems. Do not refer me to the following because it does not help either:

All the paths in the Tool/Options File Locations are correct as well and SET('PATH') returns nothing.

Anyone know how to correct this behaviour? TIA!
