>On a slightly related subject, there appears to be some surprise that many in Iraq are less supportive of the coalition than expected. When we go to war, we tend to support our leaders and military more and our war resolve strengthens. Why is it then that when military planners bomb Baghdad, Sarejevo, New York, Dresden, London etc., they believe that *the enemy*'s resolve WILL fall quickly?

Cause its a great sound-bite and lets people define their own reasoning as to why...
- because we're so powerful;
- because they're so weak;
- because they don't believe and are just following orders;
- because we're right and they're wrong;
- because my leader has always been honest and truthful in the past.

We demand proof beyond a reasonable doubt to condemn someone to jail yet we can condemn a nation's population to WAR based on hearsay. Aren't we great!
