Hi Michael,

Until you have everything working, why not set the pg_hba.conf file for trust both as to local and host. Once everything is going, you will want to assign postgres a Linux username/password pair. Then you can login as root and change security back to username, password, crypt, etc. If you already have your security going, just disregard this message.
