Mike, this sounds like a tough one. I'm guessing here but it seems as if you might have a disk corruption issue possibly? Have you checked for disk errors?

As a real shot in the dark - is there any chance of making the FPT file read only for a while and running your app? If so then when whatever is writing to the FPT file does it should cause a write error. Hopefully this might help pinpoint where it happens.

Also, does it only happen when you use the TCP control?

No other ideas at the moment.
