If you are selecting 38 fields, and 140000 lines, the view will open slowly. If you change your view to open 2 or three fields and 140000 lines, your view will open faster. But I must admit, it will not open as fast as a 38 fields, 1 line will.
From the 2 field, 140000 lines, you can use a paramertized view to open the 38 fields to work with in your application. The use of a smaller dataset, wether it is by the number of fields or the number of records will increase the speed of acquisition.
