Have you reindexed in the way I have stated, ie., padding all keys to the same length? Then try again. I checked into the CM help and it states that the find class will support simple field concatenation although I have never used the find dialog in this way so on this occasion, no experience. However, if you haven't padded the index to the same length, I am fairly sure that VFP stores each key at different lengths therefore making the index inefficient. So, it *might* be that you are comparing two string of unequal length when you type in the value in the search box compared against variable length keys. Understand what I mean?
