Ya - toastmasters is a cool org -
gave me a place to practice making the 'pitch' without the dreaded scare of losing a client. And afterwards, it was mondo cool whilst making an actual pitch. Some of the members would refer clients to me as well, especially after I mentioned I DO PAY for referrals... mondo regards [Bill]
>>Now on to misunderstandings.. I never suggested you MOVE - I suggested you join professional organizations - such as:
>>1. Omaha Chamber of Commerce
>>2. Local Omaha Software Developers Group(s)
>>3. Association for Computing Machinery [see
www.acm.org]>>4. ToastMasters of Greater Omaha
>>5. Early Morning Business Network Organizations

>Good suggestions.
>It's interesting you suggested Toastnasters. I joined it because I was very bad at public speaking but then quickly used it to learn how to run meetings with humor while getting something done. I also see that alot of self employed or small business owners join in order to learn & practice promoting themselves. I wish I had done that when I was an independent. There are a few large contracts out there that I may not have missed.
