What I can see from one of my applications, the behaviour is somehow related to whether valid event has code or not. I can switch the behaviour if I put any code into valid event.
If there is no code in the valid event, then cursor goes to the position where it was. But even if I put there just * or dodefault(), cursor goes to the beginning of the line.
