A .NET application does not have to be deployed on a Web server. A .NET application can be deployed to the desktop without any web server involved at all. Now, if you have an ASP .NET applicaiton, it can be deployed to a Win2K server. FYI, MS has dropped the ".NET server" marketing/naming stuff because it was too confusing.
