Fernando,

The story mentions that Paul Wolfowitz appears to be the decision-maker, and he was the originator in 1992 of a policy (later watered-down significantly by President Bush I and his advisors) that stipulated things like:

1) Assure the military supremacy of the U.S. for ever more, taking whatever actions may be necessary to do so;
2) Protect U.S. 'interests' (oil for sure, and who knows what else) at any cost including preemptive attacks;
3) Disbanding of the U.N.

Sure, THAT administration didn't accept it. The current one, though, appears to have done so hook, line and sinker.

He is also a signer of the 1998 letter to President Clinton pressing for immediate attack of Iraq.
He is certainly a member of the cabal now wielding power and may well be its leader.

A most dangerous man, as are all other members of the cabal. I've heard that Syria has now declared its preference to align with Iraq instead of the coalition. If that is true, and if Wolfowitz has heard this, then I don't doubt that he is already pressing to have the military make a left turn once Iraq is taken.
