Thanks the the reply. I've tried MDAC 2.6 (before your response) but it did not work. So I tried it again on a clean Win2K machine (Norton Ghost) -- MDAC 2.5 before install, MDAC 2.6 after install. Still does not work. Still cannot manually add a SQL DSN connection. It will work if I manually install MDAC 2.6 or 2.7 (via MDAC_TYP.EXE).
I downloaded MDAC 2.6 SP2 from InstallShield but I get a "extracting error" (I'm downloading it again just in case). MDAC 2.7 is out of the question becuase I do not want my client to manually install MDAC and there is no merge module for it.
My install program worked a week ago but I lost my hard drive (long story). I've had to reinstall InstallShield (and VFP) and "re-written" the install program, it was the only thing I lost (on this job). But now it does not work. I have even tried to build the install program on my laptop.
Any ideas? John
