You seem to believe that with enough training, all mistakes and errors can be eliminated. The truth of the matter is that they can't. The U.S. spend more money on the military than any other nation in the world, and guess what - people are still people, and they will still make mistakes. I would be surprised if you >didn't< see shock in the eyes of the soldiers. I don't want to meet the kind of people where seeing/being involved in a war firsthand didn't have an effect on them.

As an aside: Soldiers have to be trained to react/fire on instinct (ie. NOT think about it), otherwise a good majority of them won't fire their weapons at all. A military that isn't able to fight isn't very effective. In order to stay alive, they >have< to be able to do this. However, the downside to this is it would seem (to me) to increase the likelyhood of mistakes such as this being made on the battlefield.

>"Of course some mad ones and some sadic ones must be found in the US troops, as well. That's part of that insane thing called war. Poor Iraqi civilians that are suffering the inferno the coallition is imposing them."

And the the conditions they've been living in are better?

>It seems we're agreeing in this point, BUT the US government doesn't think like us...

Umm...no, we don't agree. That was sarcasm.
