Just so it's clear (yes, I do see a smiley there) once war started I wanted coalition victory AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. That doesn't mean that I now agree with this war. I do NOT. Under U.N. sanction I would agree, but that didn't happen for reasons only the U.S. knows.

>>I'm still waiting to see if CNN 'disciplines" Christiane Amanpour. Yesterday, talking with Bill Hemmer, I'm sure that I heard her say that she had never heard a lie yet from Iraqi government officials. Hemmer's jaw dropped and he exclaimed "Never?!?!" and she replied "Never.". They then cut to a commercial.

>Iraqi government officials told Amanpour, as well as the rest of the world, that they won the 1991 Gulf War. What does that tell you?
Even I could tell that she meant announcements relating to war events themselves and not all the propaganda surrounding the war generally.
She meant items like:
IRAQ: We shot down one helicopter.
CENTCOM: All our aircraft are fully accounted for.
CENTCOM (later): Yes, one helicopter is missing. We are investigating.
