Hi marshall,
The kodak control was replaced by WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) in XP and ME.
It's not as flexible as the kodak family of controls (there's more than one) and will only work with newer scanners (forget Microsoft's compatibility list; it's way out of date), but it's a viable alternative for what you need.
If you want to go with WIA, you will need to do some reading and digging in MSDN's web site and also be sure to download the WIA Automation Active-x, which you will need in order to use WIA from vfp.
good luck!
