The error message "ODBC error IM002 [microsoft][odbc dll] Data source name not found and no default driver specified." is saying that it cannot resolve either the DSN or cannot find the driver. Gee, aren't I real good at stating the obvious.
Another obvious question is: You have made sure that you have the most current ODBC drivers on the Win98 machine?
An idea that I would try, if I were seeing the same issues, would be to either attempt the same connection via VFP, or attempt a different connection through your FPW to a data source that DOES work with an application on the Win98 machine.
But I keep coming back to the original error message, which says that either the DSN is not set up correctly or there is no ODBC driver loaded on the machine.
Sorry I keep running around in circles.
