This is the crux of the matter, but I dare say that your average U.S.citizen is FULLY CONFIDENT that their leadership would never be a danger to the world.
Indeed I'm confident that they believe that their leadership could never be such a danger because they are incapable of even thinking that way!

The Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Perle/Cheney/Libby/... cabal has mounted a highly successful PR campaign to assure start of the war, knowing full well that the people would fully support the effort once bombing/shooting started. The PR campaign was designed to turn the skimpiest of reasoning into strong belief and to promote that any action would be a "cakewalk" (their own term, first used in Feb 2002 and later repeated by various individuals of the cabal, even as recently as early March of this year).

That most (if not all) of the "coalition of the willing" is in such status strictly for self-protection (hoping that this will stave of the alligator eating them next) is lost on the people, especially because no country in its right mind is going to outright declare that that is the reason for their "support".

Wolfowitz has succeeded in his objective of emasculating the U.N. There really is no hope for the U.N. as long as the U.S. continues to FORCE its will regardless of U.N. positions. And its hooks are so deep in the U.N. - location and $$$ - that it probably is very hard for the U.N. to countenance any move to ostracize/exclude the U.S. from its deliberations. This only assures Wolfowitz's ultimate success at re-shaping the U.N. to his own (U.S., he believes) goals.

All in all, the world is now in a very dangerous position. But it is clear that most U.S. citizens do not see it this way at all, and they are convinced that once all this is finished and Iraq has its first real election the world will see how wrong it (the world) has been in judging the U.S. in such a poor light.

As long as the cabal remain in positions of power the world IS in danger.
