>Do you know, what happened? I was banned from tek-tips forum because in half of my replies in VFP forum I was referencing solutions from UniversalThread!

>I also made an attempt of probably bad joke (though I didn't mean it to be as such). I noticed, that one member posted exactly the same questions here and in this forum, so I told it and said, that there was already an answer from Sergey Berezniker.

>Immediatelly after that I found, that I can not access forum anymore. I thought at the beginning, that there are some techincal difficulties on the forum. I sent a message to the address specified, but didn't get a reply. Then I sent a message to the forum's leader and that's his reply:

>There have quite a few problems with other members and these need to be reconciled. I'm not sure how long this will take.

>Regards,

>I misunderstood this reply and continued to believe, that there are some problems with my account.
>So, I created a new account and explained in one of the messages, that I had problems with the prev. one.

>Short after that this account was terminated in a similar way, almost all messages were deleted. I also found later, that all threads, I started by my original account, were deleted too and only replies in others threads were saved.

>Ok, today I created a new account and posted about 20 helpful messages. One of them even received a star. 6 hours later all these messages were deleted...

>I think, that's unfair... I was trying to help and not to offend anyone... If I know, that the problem was already discussed in another forum, why I can not reference the existing solution?

>I do that a lot in another forum, I'm visiting often (nsvisul.com/fox2) and never had anything bad said in my address...

Nadya;

Welcome to the Internet! You will meet all kinds of people and there all kinds of forums. Trying to help others is not important to everyone. Some people have to project his/her ego and nothing more. That is they only have an ego and no brains or concern for others.

Here is just one thing that has happened to me: On a well known forum (from a commercial framework) someone asked a question related to VFP and not the framework. They expressed it was a serious issue and they were at a customer site when their application shut down.

I suggested going to the UT for a quick answer and got a very interesting reply. The reply chastised me, “for being the cause of low user participation, by sending members to the UT”! I removed the “good words”. I guess this guy was correct - there were only about one or two posts a week on this forum at that period. It must have been my fault! :)

You will not please everyone in life or on the Internet. I call what you ran into, “Little boy who owns the ball syndrome”! In case you are not aware of that expression it relates to a group of children one of whom is a boy and owns a ball. The little boy with the ball tells everyone what to do and how to do it if they “want to play ball”. :)
