Lots of people used spam-blocked email addresses in the Microsoft public newsgroups, so you are by no means the only one.

What newsreader were you using? How was it set up? Sometimes you have to re-set a newsgroup in Outlook Express to see all the messages.
> and most of the replies where 'If you tell us your real name you'll get answers soon' - isn't this silly???
I could only find one such reply, from Herfried K. Wagner on March 11, archived in Google. I don't see people posting comments like that in the English-language Fox groups and from the looks of the names and email addresses, using false ones is fairly common.
Although I see impolite people in every newsgroup it has everything to do with the individual and nothing to do with the fact that Microsoft sponsors the newsgroups.
