>>I suggested going to the UT for a quick answer and got a very interesting reply. The reply chastised me, “for being the cause of low user participation, by sending members to the UT”! I removed the “good words”. I guess this guy was correct - there were only about one or two posts a week on this forum at that period. It must have been my fault! :)

>You know I've seen this same situtation. I've tried to get some of the VFP people to try using Artifact (http://www.artifactsoftware.com/) and didn't have much luck. A couple of years ago I even started a VFP forum, same problem - no one really used it because everyone uses the UT. If you think about it though it's quite understandable. First of all this one is 100 times better than something like tek-tips.

Hi Victor,

You're not 100% correct. I agree, of course, that for VFP developers, this forum is the best. I also agree, that the interface is very convenient and nice, I don't think, I saw something similar anywhere...

On the other hand, tek-tips has lots of forums on every possible computer related activity. It also has quite good knowledge base. Lots of questions are posted and answered in the ASP, SQL Server, JavaScript forums, though about half of the questions are really questions from novices...

So, it's a good forum and would be much better, if they would not have such policy, that the member could be banned...

The interface to this one is ideal plus since it's been around for so long it has a big knowledge base you can search and a bunch of downloads. It's good to have a bunch of different resources, but at the same time all it does is fragment us further. Right now I see 78 fellow VFPer's online here. As for Aftifact - uhhhh just little ole me and no one else.

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
