Hi Dennis,
I appreciate your interest.

As information ( I guess it wasn't clear from my original posting ), the grid on my form is not bound to my BO nor to any of it's data.

Thus the mystery (at least to me anyway).

I am able to work around the problem by suspending and resuming my grid's recordsource prior to making my BO method call.

From my vantage point, it appears that the only difference is the method of instantiation. In SCENARIO#1 my form holds an object reference, in SCENARIO#2 the BO is a member object of my form.

i am only worried in the short term. once there is a problem, the solution usually presents itself.
