IMO, all message for VFP versiond prior to VFP8 should be posted into appropriate VFP categories with VFP version stated in the body of message. I don't see a reason to use VFP7 category at all. I would post anything related to VFP8 in VFP8 category because it'll get more attention at this point. However if you're using VFP8 but your question isn't directly related to VFP8, you may post in any category you find appropriate.
