David;

The United States is often accused by many of controlling the politics of other countries and not being aware or respecting the culture, religion, and social customs of other nations. This does not agree with Fernando's statement.

Perhaps the expected behavior of Iraq towards it’s citizens and visitors is to rape, murder, and torture human beings, regardless of who is in charge. We must respect the culture of Iraq and not change those things that its citizens are accustomed to or expect. Perhaps that will gain us greater respect throughout the Middle East.

We simply must understand the expectations of other people. We should not impose our will or social values upon others. If we do that then Fernando will say, "See I told you so"!

In reality can the United States control such things? I think not as it is up to the people of a nation to establish his/her own standards and value system.

It is so convenient to blame the United States for all of the worlds negative actions. Do not look to the real issues or attempt to resolve them but rather place blame elsewhere. Denial is the perfect word. One person’s reality is another person’s fantasy.

>You are kidding, right? Nothing changes in that country? We will not get rid of torture, rape, terrorizing civilians, shredding humans in machinery, and all the many other atrocities done by Saddam and his regime?

>You must be totally in denial, man.
