I would guess that you will receive a name conflict error generated by the domain name itself being identical. Until the name conflict is resolved, I don't think that a stable trust relationship can be established, even if it is desireable. I believe that name resolution is required to establish the trust and each domain will see the target domain names (both NetBIOS and FQDN) as its own. Hence, trust cannot be established in this type of environment. The DNS at each location will resolve the domain name to itself. The only DCs that it will see are those in its own domain locally.
