I've been working with xBase since dBase III and I've never personally experienced memo corruption. I've had clients who can corrupt them at will <g>, but I've never had it happen to me.
Knock wood!
It's usually environmental. Fix the environment, and the corruption will cease. Problems that could cause this include software abends (power outages, or even brownouts), flaky NIC and/or wiring, flaky memory, or pretty much anything. VFP is astoundingly good at finding marginally faulty hardware.
Putting a good UPS on each workstation (there's already one on the server, right?) can immediately solve power issues. I've seen this work absolute wonders at some locations.
