I am preparing for an upcoming project that will involve TCP communication between my Foxpro application and an outside server. I found a zip of a simple client\server application at the MSDN site.

I was able to run the programs but the client app would not connect to the server app. The server did have its port open as I was able to ping it. I was running both programs on my local machine and there are no firewall issues and i have tried all kinds of different socket numbers.

Perhaps this example is using a deprecated version of winsocks.

My development environment is Windows XP and I have Foxpro6,7 and 8. This example does not work on any version. I would appreciate any examples and or hints that would point me towards the right direction. My goal for now is simply to connect to another TCP socket from within VFP.
