This month, Chuck Urwiler from EPS Software will present a session on SQL Server Indexing. Chuck is a Senior Developer and Consultant with EPS Software Corporation, where he develops applications using Visual FoxPro, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, and SQL Server. Over the past several years, he has provided training for thousands of developers as well as designing and implementing mission-critical applications using Microsoft tools and technology. He continues to share his knowledge with the developer community through presentations at user groups, Microsoft seminars, and Developer Conferences for VFP, SQL Server and .NET. Chuck is a co-author of Building Client/Server Applications with VFP and SQL Server by Hentzenwerke Publishing and has served as a technical editor on several other books regarding SQL Server, MSDE and e-Commerce. Chuck is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) and a Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA). He can be reached at chuck@eps-software.com http://www.eps-software.com.
SQL Server's query optimizer is well-documented in Books Online, but it doesn't give examples on what really can make a query go faster. Should you build a clustered index, a non-clustered index, or not even bother with an index? How can you tell whether your indexing strategy will work as your database grows larger? This session aims to help you answer these questions, as well as others. Further, learn what tools you can use to determine whether you have improved the performance of your queries, as well as what indexes help which specific types of queries. Presented with plenty of examples to help you grasp the concepts.

We will meet in the luxury of Dawn's house. Dinner will be Dawn's famous Stuffed Shrimp with Linguni and Hot Sauce. As usual, there will be beer and wine. Please let us know if you will be attending as we need to get the right amount of Shrimp.

Hope to see you there. (If you need directions, let us know.)

P.S. As usual 7pm is the start time.
