>Looking for some input. My company has decided to upgrade from v6 to v7. I found a few nice things in v8 that would come in very handy like the auto increment data type and the improved grid control, etc... I am researching whether or not it would be a good idea to go straight from v6 to v8 and skip 7 altogether. Aside from the time it would take to convert every app we have from 6 to 7 then to 8, I am looking for some pros to the new version - or do you think it's better to wait...

Dottie,
Under most conditions, I would say whole heartedly to upgrade. However, the OSes you support may not help your case, but it could certainly put a stop to it.

If you still support Windows 95, you can't use VFP 8. Neither Windows 95 nor Windows NT is officially supported. However, from the posts I've seen here, VFP 8 works with NT. I know from experience, it does not with 95.

Initially the main menu will build itself but submenus could have options deleted. Continuously accessing submenus eventually causes all submenus to be deleted. The only thing left is the top-level pads.

Regards.
